What’s better than one jacket? How about two? Our original Paramo design has been upgraded to be fully reversible, which we are sure will make it the most versatile piece of outerwear in your closet. One side is the expertly-constructed denim design we are known for, and when you turn it over, you get the classiest wool jacket in the game complete with our version of old-school Andean patterns. You can switch back and forth easily thanks to our custom iron buttons, which are completely removable. The stories of the women who manufacture this jacket and the natural origins of the materials mean this double-duty design has had a positive impact before you even put it on. Its timeless look means you’ll be wearing it 50 years from now and if your kids are lucky, maybe they’ll get to borrow “Dad’s cool vintage jacket.”
The denim used in our Paramo Reversible Jacket is 100% upcycled, which means a lot of work and logistics on our end, but the result is more than worth the effort. The jacket is assembled by our partner workshop in Miranda, Ecuador, and the reverse side is a blend of 90% Andean wool and 10% cotton treated to be extra soft. With locally-sourced thread and hand-forged iron buttons, we make quality and sustainability a priority from start to finish. With all of this in mind, slight color and texture variation is natural and part of what makes our products so special.

Did you know an average pair of jeans requires over 1,800 gallons of water to be manufactured? That is the equivalent to the amount of water that a family of four needs for 64 weeks. Reusing fabric offsets the production of new material and in turn, offsets the usage of resources. By upcycling denim through this jacket, we avoid the waste of roughly 7,800 gallons of water and give new life to around 1.8 pounds of textiles.
