Proceeds for Cancer
Ever since I got diagnosed (September 2023), I've been thinking of what the future of Remu looks like.
I started Remu because I wanted to create a platform through which we impact people's lives, to impact our community, and to help people in my home country of Ecuador.
I've been fortunate to call the US home, as I've had access to great medicine, insurance, etc... Unfortunately that's not the case for many. Especially, people in my country.

Meet Julio Carrera. He has worked with us for a long time now. And I'm 100% sure that Remu would not exist right now without him. He helps out with all our logistics back in Ecuador. He is the reason why all of our customers are able to get their pieces, as he picks up fabrics from our suppliers across the country, and takes them to our seamstresses. Then he picks up the jackets (or any other product), packs them and takes them to DHL. So, if you have one of our products, Julio most certainly had it in his hands at some point!
Unfortunately, his wife has been going through a very severe type of cancer for almost 10 years now. It's been devastating for her, Julio, and their whole family. Sadly, medicine in Ecuador is very inefficient, slow, and expensive. That is why we want to help out.
I wish we had the size and the resources as a company (or me as an individual) to cover everything for them, to donate to cancer research and to end this once and for all. But we're still way smaller than what most people imagine... I do still want to make a difference in their lives, and I am convinced that together we can make that happen.
Even though I, unfortunately, know that this won't cure his wife. I am certain that this will be a huge relief for his family. For them to be able to buy the medicine they need, access to better facilities, and in general lift a stress from their shoulders.
I am very excited to work together with you, our community, and our team to help someone so dear to our team.
